Scope and Contents
The tapes were found labeled with titles but most without dates. They were unsorted and did not have title numbers (see Hi-8s). The tapes were arranged alphabetically by title and then by date by the Processing Archivist. All tapes relating to Dr. James D. Watson are in Box 19. Eighteen (18) tapes were unlabeled or unable to be identified and were placed at the end of the Collection in Box 18.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
MiniDV is a digital video tape format which was a popular format for home video cameras in the early 2000s. They are called “mini” because they are smaller than standard DV format tapes (size=66mm by 48mm by 12.2mm). Mini DVs can also be used to store other forms of data (up to 13GB) with the help of appropriate software.
